- Conducted next generation aircraft carrier Jet Blast Deflector (JBD) experiments with an afterburning jet engine in collaboration with Virginia Tech and UTSI.- Designed thermo/fluids instrumentation for heat pipes to be installed in jet engines for a Boeing aircraft thermal management project.- Performed CFD analysis of cooling flow for an Areva nuclear reactor design. - Designed and performed two heat transfer experiments for exploring concepts for thermal management systems for naval ship deck protection. - Designed instrumentation and conducted experiments for a 6’ x 6’ thermal management panel for naval ship thermal management with a 2000 lb thrust turbojet engine in collaboration with Virginia Tech.

- Designed and implemented thermo/fluids instrumentation for an 18’ x 10’ size model of a next generation aircraft carrier Jet Blast Deflector (JBD).- Conducted JBD experiments with 2000 lb thrust jet engine in collaboration with Virginia Tech. - Designed and conducted fluids/heat transfer experiments for a next generation aircraft carrier Jet Blast Deflector (JBD) with 1 graduate student and 2 undergraduate students.

- Established interdisciplinary research group between SEAS and School of Medicine for applying engineering techniques to the study of atrial fibrillation.- Extended method of partial reconstruction to handle the problem of closely spaced modes in riser responses.
