Designed and developed ground-up fully functional Proofs-of-Concept (POCs) for the porting of two of the team's legacy applications onto a current platform of Spring Boot, Spring Data, Neo4J, and Apache CXF which leveraged the team's substantial investment in XML transformations on the legacy platform. Served as an evangelist and leader in unit testing with JUnit and Mockito. Designed and built back-end components that harvested data from an IBM mainframe and serialized them as JSON objects and placed them on Kafka topics that comprised a data lake.

Served as lead developer on the team developing a new data forwarding application that integrated Lifetouch’s school photography business with parent company Shutterfly’s marketing efforts. The application encompassed both user-initiated data movement and scheduled automated periodic data harvest and forwarding operations. Designed and built ReST API for user-initiated bulk/batch and single-item operations and managing order item eligibility. Designed and built intelligent rate-limiting mechanism to avoid overwhelming downstream systems. Extended in-flight image IPTC metadata capabilities for high volume JPEG image rendering. Components of the application deployed to the AWS cloud and used AWS S3 storage. Technologies incuded Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data/JPA, Spring Web Test, Amazon Aurora Database, OpenAPI(Swagger), Oracle 11g, Groovy, Spock.
