-Created a machine learning model that estimated cost and savings of lighting projects based on site metadata and past projects in our databases. The tool adjusted cost and savings by location, building type, consumer price index at the time, local utility rates, and more. Automated a scheduled AWS Sagemaker pipeline that retrained and deployed the latest version of the model as more projects were entered into our systems. The tool removed approximately 3 days of time needed for project estimation over our previous excel-based method, with the added benefit of version control.-Created a data enrichment tool that analyzed site metadata and utility bills, storing the site metadata in S3 for various machine learning use cases. The tool disaggregates energy usage into base, ventilation, heating, and cooling usage, approximates the HVAC equipment capacity onsite, and stores temperature bin data over the analyzed time period. The pre-processed dataset is foundational for several machine learning use cases within our company, including automated opportunity identification, energy benchmarking, and project prioritization.-Created an application that estimates thousands of potential solar projects in seconds from address, square footage, and building type. The tool checks eligibility of federal tax credits and local utility incentives using geospatial data. It sizes the solar array, estimates cost/savings generated by the system, and optimizes a PPA rate that balances customer payments over the contract term. The tool generated over $3B in cashflow positive leads for our sales team to pursue.-Designed and contributed to a shared team python library. This repository can be imported quickly by any team member on any machine or hosted application. It provides clients to frequently used databases and wrappers for common APIs that collect meter data, weather, and open source economic data.

-Created and deployed an HVAC energy estimation model that accurately models tens of thousands of potential RTU/CDUs replacement projects at once. Using only an address and equipment list, the tool uses a novel temperature binning approach to accurately estimate units varying greatly in schedule, control sequence, and configuration. This python tool was hosted as an AWS Lambda, speeding up the engineering team's modeling process from weeks to hours.-Created an unsupervised machine learning algorithm that detects different operating modes of Rooftop Units (RTUs) using only the minute-level energy data. This tool enabled the automated estimation of fan size, equipment size (tonnage), and occupancy schedule without an audit.-Designed and implemented scalable billing software that generates bills for customers with large portfolios of energy saving projects. The tool creates individual regression models of energy usage vs. temperature for sites before and after a project intervention. The difference between the regression models given the temperature for that billing period provides an estimate of energy savings due to the project.
