For the last 30 years, Dr. Donna Phillips has established her expertise in the field of pain management and physical rehabilitation, working within a multidisciplinary healthcare setting. This has afforded her the opportunity to collaborate with specialists from a wide variety of medical and allied health professions in the evaluation and treatment of adolescent, adult and geriatric populations with chronic pain conditions, catastrophic work-related injuries, complex medical issues, substance abuse and addiction, and family and relational problems.In addition to her work with chronic pain patients, Dr. Phillips has provided psychological assessment and counseling services to a diverse group of clients through referrals from community resources. This has included individual, couples and family psychotherapy, typically from a short-term, interpersonal and cognitive-behavioral treatment approach. Her ability to establish rapport quickly and easily with a variety of patient populations is well suited for the "new normal" in the delivery of psychological services through Telehealth and telephonic counseling. This has been instrumental in the continuity of care post-discharge, ensuring a positive adjustment to a more functional and fulfilling lifestyle as well as mitigating the potential for relapse with addictive substances.Through her work with the Rosomoff Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center, Dr. Phillips served as a mentor for psychology graduate students, anesthesiology pain fellows and clinical team members. She has participated in a wide range of research grants at the academic, clinical and community levels as well as co-authored numerous presentations and publications generated from these projects. Her professional career in clinical psychology is strongly rooted in a bio-psychosocial academic foundation combined with a compassionate driven treatment approach to health-related emotional problems.
