I am an extensively experienced engineering professional, consultant and team leader with over twenty five years experience in the telecoms arena. I have specialist technical and operational expertise in telecoms – wireless (2G-5G/ WiFi/ IoT), satellite and fibre – and its application in differing environments – such as smart cities, rail, nuclear, airports and the built environment. I use this expertise to provide strategic, technical and operational management consultancy to new entrants and major businesses across the telecoms industry and around the globe with a particular historic focus on Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Clients have included DCMS, the Welsh Government, Vodafone, Zain, Etisalat, London Underground, Eaton Towers, American Towers and Arqiva.As a Project Director, Project Manager and team member, I have:- actively managed key accounts, developing and maintaining very good relationships with many clients- successfully developed business and driven propositions to close-out sales of new projects- delivered numerous projects across the telecoms space, covering: ‘blue sky’ business strategy development; regulatory analysis; technical due diligence exercises / LTA roles supporting significant investments; network/solution design; procurement; contract and project management; and delivery/ outcome assurance.As a senior team leader, I have managed the service definition and development, resource capability (training and SQEP), utilisation, recruitment and project delivery aspects of digital consulting teams.I am experienced in line-managing teams of consultants, working in multi-disciplinary environments, leading multi-disciplinary teams and in communicating complicated technical concepts to an audience of widely varying backgrounds. I also regularly present at international conferences.
