My role as an Infrastructure Support Specialist is to configure and support server and network infrastructure required to support the day to day business operations of the company. Responsible for technical support issues, software and hardware implementation, network operation, and day-to-day management of the business network infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:Server support including installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of variousphysical and virtual server environments. This includes support of the operating systemssoftware and underlying hardware.Support for the office network infrastructure for 15 offices, a Co-Location data center and allassociated network interconnecting hardware, firewalls, and links.Working closely with other IT resources and business groups to provide recommendations anddeliver project and request requirements.Staying abreast of server and network technologies allowing for the recommendation andselection of solutions to meet business requirements.Solid understanding and working knowledge of Palo Alto Panorama and Next Generation firewalls, Avaya VoIP solutions, Internet security software including IDS, IPS, SIEM systems, SQL Server, Postgres and MySQL databases, and IIS and Apache/Tomcat web servers.

Provide in depth technical support for McCain Group of companies across New Brunswick. Using a BMC remedy system to manage incidents and work order requests in order to maintain service level agreements. On-going project work in order to standardize company IT equipment and software across the group of companies. Developing and adapting processes and software to meet ever changing business needs.

Provide technical consultancy for sales leads including both new and existing clients. Designing efficient and secure UTM implementations to integrate with existing network infrastructure. Managing the technical requirements of the customer from initial lead through to deployment. Coordinating resources in order to achieve deadlines and maximise system availability for the end user whilst providing professional and seamless integration of Smoothwall’s product line. Installation of Smoothwall products and hands on experience with all aspects of network hardware and domain administration.

Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support for a number of managed service and independent clients. Identify system and software deficiencies and implement proven solutions in order to effectively maintain the working environment. Maintain and manage backup solutions across a range of networks on both physical and virtual infrastructure. Management and maintenance of firewall systems such as; Cisco PIX/ASA, Watchguard and open source hardware/software. Manage and prioritise support ticket system, providing updates, resolutions and statistical data for system and performance analysis.

Provide comprehensive on site technical assistance for domestic and Local Education Authority customers, including support for LAN/WAN products and sales support for key accounts of all sizes.
