CurrentMy team builds the Engineering Systems that validate and release the Azure SDK. These systems automate an enormous validation matrix across a variety of languages and platforms. I build tools to keep product engineers focused on features so they can ship with confidence.Engineering Systems work is done in support of 6 major languages: Embedded C, C++, C#/.NET, Java, JavaScript, and Python using a variety of tools, frameworks, and cloud services including Azure DevOps Pipelines, ARM templates, Az PowerShell modules, CMake, Doxygen, vcpkg, Azure Active Directory, the list goes on. ---- Previously I led a project to automate synthetic front end test scenarios of the Azure Portal and track performance over time. Creating reliable synthetic frontend performance tests is difficult because of the number of external factors that can influence software performance. I worked with teams across Microsoft to gather best practices and create a scalable performance testing lab in the Azure cloud. Performance automation work happened in Azure VMs and included working directly with the Azure Portal team, building reports with PowerBI, generating custom Windows images, and a test harness written in C#.
