Develop process improvements related to distillation, adsorption, filtration, drying, liquid-liquid extraction, chromatography, crystallization, and lyophilization. Support the design, capital expenditure, and commissioning of kilo-laboratory and commercial-scale active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing plants. Optimize reaction kinetics and temperature ramping during batch scale-up of complex hydrogenation, neutralization, esterification, hydration, hydrolysis, oxidation, reduction, and nucleophilic aromatic substitution chemical reactions. Assist with the qualification and implementation of new process equipment such as 2000 L reactors, condensers, agitated Nutsche filter dryers, and agitated ribbon dryers.
