Software management and Development• Develop systems software as required• Upgrade systems software • Install and test new software• Installation of operating system (windows xp, windows 7, windows 8, windows 8.1 and windows 10, Windows Servers, Ubuntu, Linux, Ubuntu Servers)• Monitor proper usage of IT facilities• Make software available to appropriate users• Ensure the updated anti-virus software is installed and working properly on all stations.• Share files as required by staff and students.• Set up and maintain user e-mail accounts.Hardware management• Inspect new equipment on arrival and install as appropriate• Liaise with the designated person responsible for portable appliance electrical safety testing• Assist in the deployment of computer hardware around the College• Keep a log of all technical faults• Liaise with external support agencies to resolve faults speedily• Basic Maintenance and troubleshooting skillNetwork management• Ensure the reliability of the local communications systems• To provide hands-on support/ training to staff whenever required.• Carry out routine network maintenance tasks• Familiar with the network infrastructure and keep a log of any damage to it.• Familiar with Cisco routers and switches• Knowledge of the IP Network plan and troubleshooting• Follow supplier’s recommended procedures • Knowledgeable on the radio equipment
