About Dan Kamien

I am a zoologist with 27 years of experience in biological surveying, environmental impact assessment (EIA), zoological research, and conservation biology. In my role as a principal zoologist, I regularly liaise with clients, government regulators, traditional owners and other stakeholders to provide technical advice on matters relating to species conservation, environmental management and policy. I pride myself in delivering high quality and practical outcomes. I have demonstrated skills relating to EIA, having successfully scoped, tendered, designed, budgeted, planned, managed and reported on over 170 zoological studies throughout Western Australia. I have a long-standing interest in nature and conservation. Early in my career I worked on conservation-based programs in Papua New Guinea, the Subantarctic, and northern Australia, often in a voluntary capacity.
