Dikesh Prajapati is the Co-founder and Chief Branding Officer of Dochaa, a company born after the devastating earthquakethat hit Nepal in 2015 with a vision to promote and revitalize the dying Nepali heritage andculture. Having an IT degree, Dikesh previously worked as an app developer for Dochaa.Dikesh strives to promote fair labor practices in the footwear industry and challenge the stigmaof shoemaking in Nepal by creating a socially conscious brand. Since 2017, he has workedwith men and women from marginalized communities and indigenous women weavers fromrural Nepal.  With more than 5 years of experience in designing and 3 years in shoe designing, he is nowworking with a group of indigenous artisans whose art will be featured in their shoe designs. Hiscompany uses traditional indigenous fabrics and patterns inspired by different communities ofNepal.  Dikesh belongs to the Newar indigenous community and understands the importance of arts,culture, and indigenous skills that are dwindling due to ignorance and negligence of theindigenous youth today. Recently, through a small grants project funded by UNESCO, AIPP,and AIYP, in just 3 months his joint project reached over 10000 people from 3 different indigenouscommunities to prepare them for the challenges posed by COVID-19.  He is passionate about making a strong and meaningful impact through his works and beliefshis enthusiasm, empathy, progressive mindset, and ability to adapt will help him achieve his goals.
