I served as the leader of a cross-functional team comprising software developers, system administrators, and analysts for a number of innovative R&D projects within the Research Division of the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency. My team and I worked on developing cutting-edge geospatial solutions, and I played a crucial role in guiding the customer through the migration of prototype software systems to operational web applications that could be used by analysts across the intelligence community.As part of my responsibilities, I developed and documented system and user requirements, and architected solutions based on Amazon Web Services, which facilitated rapid and cost-effective development and testing of systems. I also performed functional and security testing, hardened systems to meet intelligence community requirements, and developed long-term system maintenance plans.I integrated multiple systems from various agencies into a single, robust solution. To ensure that users could fully utilize the systems we created, I created user and system administration documentation and provided training. Lastly, I provided support to government leadership to secure long-term funding for these systems, ensuring that these capabilities remain available to the community well into the future.

In my role supporting the Department of Homeland Security's Domestic Nuclear Detection Office, I provided crucial modeling and simulation expertise. Specifically, I developed geospatial algorithms using Python and QGIS to predict encounters between law enforcement officials and individuals who were illegally crossing the border.To achieve realistic outcomes, I also incorporated agent-based modeling capabilities into several simulation packages, and developed autonomous agents to further enhance the simulations. My contributions were instrumental in aiding the agency's efforts to monitor and detect potential security threats, and to help ensure the safety of the public.

As a geospatial analyst, I excelled in performing complex analysis using a variety of GIS software packages. I specialized in developing and coding custom web-based GIS solutions that were utilized by multiple government agencies.I also provided guidance to customers on geospatial software solutions and customizing those solutions to fit their unique needs. I always looked for innovative ways to improve geospatial applications and had a passion for research and development.In addition, I had experience researching, designing, building, and field testing custom hardware devices and sensors that were specifically geared toward geologic applications.
