This was a paid internship in which I worked in the Gallagher Benefits Services, Inc. subdivision. As part of the program, I attended an intern orientation week at the company’s global headquarters where we heard from company executives on how to be successful both as interns and in our future careers. Additionally, weekly speeches focused on a variety of topics served to improve public speaking skills. Throughout the summer, I had the opportunity to attend and participate in several client and prospective client meetings. This allowed me to better understand the importance of client relationships and the complexities of the insurance industry. At the end of the summer, I participated in the preparations for a final sales challenge, which was an opportunity to showcase all skills learned throughout the internship program and experience the sales process.
