Profile bio

About D. Lee Fugal

UPDATED PROFILE:Having mastered most of Digital Signal Processing (DSP), I’m enjoying “giving back” in the form of consulting, teaching, and publishing and want to do more of the same!I’ve been able to build on my gut-level understanding of DSP to write the book “Conceptual Wavelets in Digital Signal Processing” (www.conceptualwavelets.com) which has received excellent reviews (“Highly Recommended” from the American Library Association) and has had brisk sales to individuals, corporations and university libraries worldwide. Also recently co-authored another DSP book for Prentice-Hall "The Essential Guide to Digital Signal Processing" with best-selling author Richard G. Lyons. I've taught DSP and Satellite Communications courses for 3 major universities and DSP short courses at public and on-site locations across the country for Applied Technology Institute (ATI).I’m very good at understanding how a client’s particular DSP/Communications application works "from the ground up". I can use the equations as a starting point but I can also dig deeper to see how it REALLY works or WILL work (or why it’s NOT working!) I also have a large network of DSP authors and experts from industry and academia that I can turn to for help on a specific DSP issue. I can often “translate” answers and equations from these experts (or from scholarly mathematical books and papers) into an intuitive, workable solution for the client.DEMONSTRATED EXPERTISE IN:• DSP/Communications Algorithm Development & MATLAB Simulation/Modeling • Advanced "Techniques, Tips and Tricks" for use in Time/Frequency/CAF, Matched Filtering, Resampling/Multirate/Multiresolution/Wavelets, Stochastic Resonance/Dithering, Processing Gain Enhancements, Multiple Access Communication Schemes, and Statistical Signal Processing.• Publication Quality Reports and Documentation.NOTE: See "Additional Letters of Recommendation" PDF files below. Extended resume or curriculum vitae (CV) available on request.

Listed skills include Signal Processing, Simulations, Digital Signal Processors, Matlab, and 46 others.
