About Dominik Lehnert
As a peace, development and communications professional with over 15 years of experience in mid and senior-level positions, I have a proven track record of successful international projects at the nexus of media, communication, humanitarian assistance, sustainable development and peacebuilding.I have long-standing experience in multi-stakeholder project and programme development, implementation, and evaluation. I have worked as a consultant and advisor in several African countries such as Sudan, South Sudan, Kenya and Sierra Leone. My experience in conflict analysis, Do-No-Harm, conflict-sensitive programming and sustainable development has been vital in projects addressing displacement, post-conflict reintegration, the proliferation of small arms, food and water security, climate change, environmental degradation and prevention and control of health crises (e.g. Ebola, Cholera and COVID-19).With a keen ability to work in stressful, challenging and politically sensitive environments, I can lead team members calmly and with a clear focus. I enjoy building strong professional relationships in multicultural and multi-identity environments. I hold a master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Journalism. I am fully bilingual (English and German).Besides being a passionate multimedia editor, journalist and storyteller, I developed the Media for Peace framework, a peace and conflict-sensitive approach to media productions. The Media for Peace framework is used today in various media development projects in the MENA region, Africa and Europe.
