Dec 2013 - Present

Engineering & Nvh Manager

Belleville, Mi

Managed Exedy's North American engineering and NVH resources. In this role I oversaw the rapid growth of Exedy's engineering resources within North America including staffing and considerable capability expansion. My efforts contributed to several multi-million dollar investments to build a new brownfield testing facility, machine shop, prototype assembly cleanrooms and all associated equipment and human resources within. This growth resulted in corporate restructuring that created a new Operations and Technology Group, which I currently lead.

Dec 2013 - Apr 2017

Senior Product Engineer

Novi, Michigan, United States

Lead engineering and design resources at Hengst's North American Development Center with focus on new product development, validation and new business acquisition. Responsibilities also included VA/VE and current product design optimization. Products under my prevue while at Hengst included engine oil and transmission filter modules, fuel filtration and modules, nested plate heat exchangers and performance testing.

Dec 2012 - Dec 2013

Program Manager

Troy, Michigan, United States

While at Bilstein I maintained several key roles culminating with Program Manager for shock absorbers, coil springs and stabilizer bars. In this role I performed all conventional program management functions as well as advanced development of active (real time) dampers, vehicle integration and associated software tuning. Prior responsibilities afforded me the title of Resident Engineer, where I was an integrated supplier, resident at General Motors Vehicle Engineering Center (VEC). In that role I served as technical expert for all Bilstein passive dampers. This entailed all production release functions within GM systems, change management and maintaining corporate data within GM databases. I also oversaw considerable test stand and vehicle level validation, coordinated vehicle builds, facilitated regular customer meetings, managed multiple PPAP events simultaneously, drove VA/VE activities and coordinated all product warranty activity after start of production.

Dec 2006 - Dec 2012

Lead Engineer

Madison Heights, Michigan, United States

Performed multiple roles ranging from engineering, design and testing of ballistic protection products for civilian and military light armored vehicle packages to an on-site consultant managing a team of engineers and designers in Shanghai, China to fast launch a new EMS vehicle. Responsibilities also included DRE functions for several General Motors programs with particular focus on injection molded, thermoformed, and various vehicle structural components. Considerable time was also spent performing CFD analysis where direct interface was needed between GM Studio (product appearance) and Product Engineering staff to ensure sufficient airflow was maintained through vehicle grille and fascia to provide adequate powertrain cooling of high performance engine packages.

Mar 2003 - Dec 2006

Nvh Engineer

Farmington Hills, Michigan, United States

Performed on-track, vehicle level NVH testing to optimize vehicle sealing components and benchmark competitive hardware. In this role, I was a certified closed track driver on many OEM and privately owned North American test tracks. Functions included vehicle instrumentation, high speed on-track wind noise contribution testing, data acquisition, data analysis, correlation testing, reporting and interacting with Product Engineering to implement design changes for product improvement. A considerable amount of time was spent analyzing non-linear FEA and CFD results to optimize "A-surface" component designs for appearance and function. Primary components of interest included vehicle weatherstrips, glass runs, glazing systems, integration of laminated window glass and side mirrors.
