I have a background in education, psychology, theology, and writing. I'm also interest men's work and men's issues, and am an active participant with the Mankind Project. I have spent the last ten years writing with some amazing people at 16personalities.com as well as other projects. In the past, I've done freelance work on many fronts, and I've found that if I have time to research, I can write about almost anything the layman might want to read. My preferred topics involve mental health, self-help, motivation, and spiritual topics, but I am not limited to these. I write short stories for fun.In Education, I've served both as an administrator (middle school headmaster) and teacher (primarily English and ESL, but also dabbled in teaching psychology, philosophy, and social studies.) I believe students want to be challenged to try new things and to grow. I started a middle school student council where there previously hadn't been one, and students remain motivated and blossom as leaders and organizers. In the classroom, I liked to turn the difficult and the "boring" into something that was accessible and, with the right twist, interesting.Worked as a staff psychologist in the NC Department of Correction and private practice for a decade. My private practice extended my work in education somewhat, primarily by working with teens and very young adults.Conducted and created corporate seminars independently and on a contract basis with other seminar providers. Focus primarily on Work/Life issues with an emphasis on stress management and motivation tips.
