During this internship I characterized the performances and clinical applicability of a Cerenkov Luminescence Specimen Analyser for intra- operative tumour margin detection in breast cancer. The performance characteristics, e.g. sensitivity, penetration depth and spatial resolution were studied using a phantom that mimics the optical properties of human.

An anatomical-based phantom was designed to be able to determine the optimal reconstruction algorithm of the 68-Gallium-Exendin-4 PET/CT and 111-Indium-Exendin-4 SPECT/CT study in Diabetes Mellitus research.The aim of this project was to develop a phantom that fulfilled the radiation safety rules and was a true representation of the pancreas and kidneys.
