Duane Lohn is a Senior Managing Director and Global Group Practice Leader of B. Riley’s Compliance, Risk, Resilience & ESG practice. Lohn has extensive experience advising clients in emergency and crisis planning, business and operational continuity management, disaster recovery, and enterprise risk management. He serves as an advisor to private, public, and education sector clients as part of their governance, risk, and compliance initiatives, and in support of their response to disruptions and crises. Lohn previously worked at Ankura Consulting Group, FTI Consulting, Marsh Risk Consulting, KPMG, and as a member and co-founder of Risk Solutions International. He holds a BSBA from the University of Phoenix. Lohn is based in both New York and Phoenix, Arizona.

Mr. Lohn is the Co-founder, CEO and Managing Member, and a Director of the Board of Managers of Risk Solutions International LLC (RSI). RSI is a leading operational risk management organization that focuses on assisting organizations with the disruptions they face. Duane has extensive experience in advising risk, compliance, legal, and audit committee members and board committees on operational risk and resilience, specializing in emergency and crisis planning, enterprise risk management, business and operational continuity management, data security, and cybersecurity. Duane focuses on BCM governance, crisis management frameworks, disaster recovery, and emergency and crisis communication tools for a broad portfolio of private, public, critical infrastructure, and education sector clients. He understands the complex but practical relationships among cybersecurity, operational downtime, resilience, and sustaining of long-term organizational reputation through confidence in leadership and oversight decision-making and management.

Duane Lohn was a Managing Director at FTI Consulting. He co-lead the Global Risk Management practice. Mr. Lohn is considered an expert in operational resilience, recovery, governance, cyber, compliance and risk management. Clients called on Mr. Lohn to help assess the adequacy and maturity of their organizational approach to operational resilience. This work included review of clients’ preparedness for disruptive events, and speaks to their enterprise business continuity management programs (business continuity, IT disaster recovery, cybersecurity, emergency and crisis management and communications). Mr. Lohn is considered a leading expert on operational, emergency preparedness and planning at critical infrastructure installations (airports and water utilities). He was the program administrator of teams that were engaged by the Transportation Research Board (part of the National Academy of Sciences) – to design custom software and training to help U.S. airports develop site-specific business continuity plans and airport emergency plans that align with government guidance.Mr. Lohn co-lead the practice’s work in cybersecurity with a portfolio of pre-breach and post-breach services including independent third party assessments, policy reviews, vulnerability remediation plans, and cyber incident response plans. He worked with FTI colleagues who provided post-breach services in cyber forensic investigations, litigation support, data analytics, media messaging, counter-narratives, crisis management and reputation recovery. Mr. Lohn is sought after to facilitate and participate on industry panels and webinars. Duane lead workshops for public agencies like FEMA and New York on the subject of small business resiliency.

Mr. Lohn managed the entire business development, sales and delivery process for Marsh Risk Consulting. The areas of services included the following: intellectual property, claim and business interruption valuation, claims, forensic accounting, crisis management, business continuity planning and emergency management.
