About Dalton Shoemaker

I attended Texas Tech University and pursuing a degree in wind energy. I was a member of the Wind Energy Student Association and was actively involved with the program. Through this program, I have gained more hands-on experience than I ever thought I would. I have climbed a functioning wind turbine to see everything I had learned about in class. I also learned to use the same programs that wind companies use, such as GIS and WAsP. I sincerely enjoyed the GIS and WAsP side of the program. It was a delicate balance between spacing the turbines out far enough to minimize the wake effect and close enough for the collection system.
