Technical contributor on the Flash Integration & Characterization team. Main job responsibilities include: • Integrate new NAND models/revisions with Seagate flash storage processors. • Coordinate bring up activities with marketing, operations, and firmware teams • Understand physical and logical topology of NAND flash memory• Modify firmware relating to NAND flash control subsystem• Write Python based test scripts for failure analysis and flash characterization• Work directly with NAND flash suppliers to resolve technical issues.• Lab debug and failure analysis of NAND flash memory subsystems

The position was a project management job but I was also a technical contributor on the team. My primary technical role was bring up of the FPGA test systems and debug of issues that surfaced. At the same time I was managing a project involving a global team and coordinating their efforts to meet my project schedule. I had a minimum of weekly project status meetings directly with LSI external customers where we discussed both the project as a whole and my individual contribution efforts.Main job responsibilities include:* Primary customer interface co-located with development team* Gather technical requirements and create specifications* Maintain master project schedules and coordinate tasks among various HW and FW groups* Drive error tracking process and ensure timely resolution* Brief upper management weekly on project progress..* Create formal releases of IP and FW for FPGA based validation testing and deploy worldwide.* Failure analysis during development and qualification* Manufacturing integration support at customer site

•Work with field representatives and sales staff at customer site to resolve firmware issues in a timely manner and create strong business relationships.•Modify drive firmware to support customer specific configurations and create test scripts to verify unique functions.•Create diagnostic firmware versions to support special testing like signal integrity of SATA bus.•Working with a team of programmers to convert SCSI based test tools over to SATA.•Performing failure analysis of next generation hard disk drives under development.•Liaison with Singapore manufacturing operation on initial production runs.•Developing diagnostic and validation test scripts in TCL.•Upgrading field diagnostic tools used for error log retrieval and parsing.•Conversion of firmware routines from assembly code to C.

•Supported SW, tooling, and process development on an automated high volume manufacturing tester•Supported image analysis code to locate and measure actual size of 600dpi ink drops on paper.•Added parametric data reporting from DOS based legacy system into an Informix database.•Transferred technical knowledge of in-house developed automated equipment to Singapore based team.•Created a distributed control application using a central server running a COM-based Visual Basic application utilizing an Access database to maintain inventory and a PLC5 to control part transfers.•Designed electrical control system for ASRS system and led a crew of three electricians to implement.•Modified Controlview application to add dynamic production load balancing.•Optimized PLC/Servo code to improve product yield and reduce cycle time on a high volume manufacturing line.•Conducted training classes on equipment for operators and maintenance personnel.

Wrote specifications for, purchased and installed automated tooling in a semiconductor fab. trained operators and technicians on use of the equipment. Also programmed robot and vision system based work cells for automated assembly.
