Responsible for marketing in the 22-state central region of the United States, and aid in marketing nationally.Led or was directly involved with a team that serviced numerous clients and generated revenue in excess of $30 million, and provided state and local tax savings of over $100 million. Advised clients on state and local tax issues relating to income, franchise, sales/use, premium, and retaliatory taxes by performing reverse audits, and developing tax minimization strategies. Duties included: research and writing memorandum relating to all aspects of state and local taxation of insurance companies, marketing services to potential clients, management of all aspects of client service such as communicating with various state agencies on behalf of the client, kept the clients apprised of the project status, provided training to client personnel, and supervision of internal staff. Annually helped author the National Association of Independent Insurers’ State Tax Guide and review the State Taxation section of the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association’s Property and Casualty Textbook.Frequent guest speaker at numerous insurance state tax conferences including the National Association of Independent Insurers Conference, the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association, and National Premium Tax Conference (2000 – 2003), and am a regular participant in such organizations as the Texas Association of Life and Health Insurers.
