About Dawn Olsen
When I told the combination high-school-guidance-counselor-basketball-coach I wanted to be a writer, he sneered. "All liberal arts jobs are crummy jobs," he said. Back then, I didn't know how to respond. I was just a kid. (The teenager kind, not the goat kind.) But I did prove him wrong. For 13 years, I've been making words go, doing a communicate, and getting shit did. But I'm not "just" a writer. I'm also a photographer, stage performer, and—as much as the phrase makes me itch—content influencer. I know how to work with legislators, function on Diet Coke and two hours of sleep, build consensus, keep people honest, and make people care about what they're reading and seeing.

I was the creator and keeper of our marketing strategy, which included our online presence, branding, and business development opportunities. Proposals, content calendars, public relations, website management, client outreach, photo shoots, ads, award submissions, and social media were all under my watch. I worked closely with the partners to meet their sales goals and implemented the firm’s first-ever marketing budget in 2019. I’m also proud of having written the proposal that got us the amphitheater project at White River State Park. (You should still ask me about the time I PhotoShopped groundhog heads onto everyone’s headshots, though.)
