Jan 1985 - Dec 2000Earth Tech / Waste Management/ Waste Management International (Italy)The first three years of my career at Waste Management I was the lead for a team of 3 technicians which ran volumetric studies on ten landfills throughout the Eastern part of the United States. At each of the ten sites I lead the team in the construction of the temporary gas extraction system, which included; QA/QC of the gas extraction well drilling and installation, the construction of the HDPE collection pipe (heat welded HDPE pipe from 2 to 10 inch dia.), set up of the Caterpillar engine and blower and flaring system. The test was a three month 24/7 operation in which a technician, every four hours, would take pressure reading at up to 75 well points and gas flow measurements at up seven meter runs. Also, at four hour intervals landfill gas samples were retrieved from 8 sample points and analyzed, on site, by the technician utilizing a Hewlett Packard 5890A Gas Chromatograph and Integrator which was housed in a mobile lab. The next phase of my career involved assisting in the startup of 6 Waste Management owed Landfill gas to electric facilities. Additionally, I operated, troubleshot, and repaired Daniels 500 Gas Chromatographs, Chart recorders, and Flow meters. The following phase of my career included design, construction QA/QC, troubleshooting, and Project Management and Project Control.Listed below are representative projects that I was responsible for while serving as a Project Manager at Waste Management/Earth Tech. Additionally, I had general oversight and reporting for all projects in the Solid Waste Group of the Oak Brook Engineering office. I was responsible for tracking the engineering staff resource load utilizing scheduling Primavera P3 and Excel.
