Director Of Workers’ Compensation
CurrentReporting to the City Comptroller, operating under a $119MM annual departmental budget while managing $750MM in reserves, this role is responsible for reforming and leading the operations of the City’s self-insured, third-party administered claims management program. Reforming, creating and implementing cost reduction strategies and initiatives that align with and support those of the overall enterprise. Also responsible for assuring that staffing, culture, philosophies and processes are aligned with City of Chicago standards and Department of Finance key strategies and objectives. Manage TPA service delivery at all levels. Educate and train the City on workers’ compensation policies and procedures. Assess and perpetually monitor the cost effectiveness of the WC program and identifies inefficiencies while recommending and implementing process improvements.
