Our client was completely new to unconventionals and therefore partnered with us to develop local standard operating procedures.Optimizing the performance of the drilling fluids increases safety, provides a faster path to initial revenue, and maintains formation integrity to ensure maximum, long-term production. Validated state and federal environmental compliance for glycol dehydrators (upstream separation machinery) in the Permian Basin (an area the size of Maine) and improved upon the existing compliance system.->Studied regulations, determined tests necessary to prove compliance, and collected field data for testing. No units were over emissions limits, but on borderline units I advised measures to reduce emissions, thus avoiding fines.->Improved the existing complex system that had failed to flag two emissions borderline units by:distilling the complex set of regulations down to a logical action tree for maintaining compliance;developing an Access application to improve recordkeeping and data transfer between the office and the field;overall, streamlining a complex compliance process, and decreasing the chance of future errors.

With 8 other seniors, I served as a residential adviser (RA) for freshmen through senior boarding students at the McCallie School in Chattanooga, TN. I served in the inaugural year of Burns Hall under dormhead Chester LeSourd.Burns' RAs' achievements included leading the dorm to runner-up in intramurals and the top 3 GPA in dorms.Through this opportunity to give back to the school, I learned about mentoring students, conflict resolution, and working with faculty and school policy on discipline issues (fortunately I didn't have to do this too often).
