The Work Department is a women-led design for social impact studio based in Detroit. We partner with value-driven organizations to make a positive impact with design.

Issue Media Group is an Inc. 5000 media company that covers growth and investment in cities across the U.S. and Canada. As director of two departments, I managed a portfolio of underwriter accounts in Michigan and across the U.S., provided management expertise and support to our sales and content delivery teams, advised scoping and pricing for new underwriter engagements, managed complex digital content projects across the company's editorial publications, custom client platforms, and numerous underwriting projects, and provided strategy, direction and workflow support to our development and design team. IMG is a mission-based company with a large footprint and a small army of sales teams, editors and freelance contributors. In addition to coordinating project development and providing client relationship support, I sat on the company's executive leadership team and provided operational support to ensure our teams have the tools and resources they needed to succeed.

Michigan Community Resources provides pro bono legal services and technical assistance to nonprofit community organizations in low-income communities across Michigan. As a part-time project assistant, I supported civic engagement efforts for the Detroit Works Project. My work included coding, analyzing, and providing summaries for qualitative and quantitative citizen feedback data, and creating maps, tables, charts and summary pages for use during citizen engagement events and in the Detroit Works Project strategic plan (now the Detroit Future City Framework).

Parsons Brinckerhoff is a global engineering professional services consulting term. As one of only five architectural historians at the time, my work included reconnaissance and intensive-level surveys, property research and documentation, agreement documents, and technical review of Section 106 and NRHP documentation. I worked within Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (as amended), particularly in applying National Register of Historic Places criteria to complete eligibility determinations and assessing project effects to historic properties. Notable projects included the historic resources survey and effects assessment for the Woodward Avenue Light Rail Transit Project study in Detroit and the Historic Context Study and Programmatic Agreement for the Honolulu Rail Transit Project in Honolulu.
