In August of 2019, Dr. Denise Driscoll joined the Center for Innovative and Strategic Transformation of Alkane Resources (CISTAR), an NSF Engineering Research Center. Her goals as the CISTAR Director of Diversity and Inclusion are: 1) To broaden the participation of groups underrepresented in the petrochemical and fuels industry; 2) To create an inclusive center that supports, values, and rewards all its members to their fullest potential; and, 3) To prepare culturally intelligent (CQ), global engineers.Dr. Driscoll is interested in (1) Implicit bias and how to de-bias teams, (2) the types of managerial communication practices that create, and sustain, highly-effective diverse teams, and (3) educational and training methods that increase the CQ and global dexterity of managers. Dr. Driscoll is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Purdue University and founder of Diversity Competency LLC (a consulting company started in 2008).
