Assessment, evaluation and forecast of environmental conditions on estuaries and tidal rivers with focus on maintenance of waterways and flood risk assessment. Full time work in projects delivered/in deliverance for the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration of Germany (Nebenelben project) and the Ministry for Energy Transition, Climate Protection, Environment and Nature of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany (ÜSG-SH project). Responsibilities• Coordination, acquisition, process and post-process of: o Multibeam echo-sounder bathymetrical surveys in shallow waters (less than 20m depth). o ADCP cross-section current profiles.• Hydrodynamic numerical modeling using TELEMAC-MASCARET system.• Map production and geodata analysis in GIS software.• Liaising with stakeholders and clients.• Production of technical reports and presentations.• Coordination of interns, student projects (e.g. bachelor thesis) and lectures.Key achievements• Automation of post-process workflows of bathymetrical surveys and hydrodynamic model results, improving their speed, scalability and error reduction through Python codes.• Calibration of newly installed devices for bathymetrical surveys.• Development of automated statistical analysis for geodata, leading to workflows that could be used in projects of different purposes (e.g. morphological development, hydrology, hydrodynamics, ...).

Evaluation of a minimum monitoring concept as source of input parameters for numerical hydrodynamic and morphologic simulations of water reservoirs. Ocean wave climate description of Vietnam West coast through reanalysis data and satellite observations. Objective was to support the coastal protection management of the Mekong Delta, Vietnam, as part of project ViWat.Responsibilities• Statistical description of ocean waves.• Evaluation of ERA5 reanalysis wave data when compared to satellite measurements.• Production of figures and presentations to synthetize the results to a multi-disciplinary working group.Key achievements• Description of wave climate in different ways (e.g. histograms, bi-histograms, wave roses, ...) allowing a good understanding by the work group.• Establishment of automated workflows in MatLab
