My main duties revolved around the extensive use of Sage 500 accounting system to process sales and purchase transactions, producing weekly payments, monthly reconciliations, month-end and year end control accounts. I managed a 40 user procurement card scheme and assisted with daily collection of Direct Debits and related reports. I managed the travel & subsistence scheme, perform collection duties for student debtors and prepare data for budget meetings. I constantly aimed to streamline and digitalise as many of the finance procedures and systems as possible, resulting in bespoke add-ons to our accounting system and greater collaboration between departments. On numerous occasions I have been recruited to assist other departments such as the IT helpdesk team, website development and the procurement team.I took a seven month career break in 2015 in which I moved to the Czech Republic and worked as an Second Chef in a gastropub before returning to the Care Council. During my time at the Care Council I studied with Kaplan Financial to gain AAT level 2 and 3, CompTIA's A+ computer course and Open University's FinTech course. Show less
