My time with DESIGNA has some of the proudest moments of my career so far. Initially hired as their RMA Technician, I handled the repairs of their "multicon" ticket producer/reader units, from initial customer contact to return shipping and follow-up. I was soon crossed over into provisioning of new equipment orders, retrofitting terminals with different equipment according to customer specifications (such as HID Prox readers, credit card readers, media player displays, etc.) From there, I began to learn about the software side of the DESIGNA ABACUS system, from basic new-system setup and configuration to troubleshooting and system upgrades on massive, city-wide systems. At this point, I had transitioned to the Service Engineer role. I've been involved with setup and/or support on parking systems installed in airports, city garages, and hospitals nationwide, from Seattle to Philadelphia and Grand Rapids to Miami. I've also traveled to the company's global headquarters in Kiel, Germany to meet their support team and learn more about the system, from the production and manufacturing line to the SQL database. I have also done some basic 3D CAD using Autodesk Fusion 360 coupled with a 3D printer to design and create various mounting brackets and blanking plates.I've been recognized by some of our partners for my polite and helpful demeanor as well as my commitment to problem solving, let alone my technical knowledge and practical ability.

During my second stint of employment with Round1 USA, I was able to learn more about and grow into a role as a leader for my department. As the department manager, I was in charge of delegating out repair and maintenance tasks of our over 150 different arcade and prize games, 12 bowling lanes, 6 billiards tables, and 8 pinball machines, as well as general cleaning and maintenance of the facility itself. I was responsible for hiring new custodians and technicians, and training both alike, from best cleaning practices and basics of electricity to optimizing the schedule with "aces in their places" to handle peak shifts. I was also responsible for handling spare part inventory and replacement part ordering, including communicating with vendors about delays and warranty statuses.I was later appointed as the Safety and OSHA compliance committee lead. As such, I performed routine inspections of building conditions and staff behavior and aimed to coach employees on safety guidelines. I also led meetings with a team of appointees from each department to discuss safety bulletins from corporate as well as identify current issues in the store, discuss possible solutions, and communicate our findings and needs to the general manager.One particular accomplishment I'm proud of is that I was elected by my store's regional manager to travel to the Northwoods Mall, Peoria, IL location twice to assist with getting them caught up with game repairs as well as training their mechanic staff on diagnostic skills, maintenance routines, and inventory practices.

After beginning my career as a technician at Round1, I moved to Dave & Buster's to start growing upwards in the arcade field. With their positive and supportive work culture of "everybody is somebody", and a focus on guest experience through the "PLEDGE" model, I was able to grow not just as a technician, but as an individual, learning about myself and my team as I learned about the different coin pushers, crane games, ball games, and everything else in the building. As a technician, I was responsible for keeping up with Preventative Maintenance Tasks, or PMTs - routine maintenance for each machine with its own designated checklist of items to inspect for wear and tear. I was also responsible for "guiding the fun" as a floor presence and first point of contact for guests having issues with games - not just malfunctions, but how to play and strategies to win!My proudest moment with D&B would be the Google review a guest left about our store, where I was mentioned by name as a positive part of their visit.
