I work in a distributed team (Eindhoven/Cluj/Brno) as part of an outsourcing program to develop and maintain the software for electron microscopes produced by Thermo Fisher Scientific.Some of my achievements include:-- I completed the redesign and refactoring of the API and backend that cover all microscope vacuum systems. This resulted in reducing the integration cycle time by a factor of 20 and increasing the software stability by a factor of 7 (measured by the number of reported crashes and memory leaks). As the project tech lead, I also led a small team of developers. The main challenges were: - I had to deal with 15-year-old code and multiple configurations that involved different technologies. I ensured that the clients experienced no difference between them. This involved exploring and examining various technical aspects. - Since the entire microscope software used a monolithic design approach, I had to be careful with changes that could cause regression.-- I participated in the development of a new vacuum system that will be used on a new generation of microscopes (TFS Krios G4 TEM) and will serve as a basis for further modifications. The design decisions were made as a result of the team discussion. The main challenges were:- Developing a modular system that would enable quick extensions to meet future customer needs. I had to take into account the previous experience of the company to ensure software modularity.-- I am leading a small team (3 SEs) to develop a new add-on for the base configuration that will enable studying the effects of gases on different specimens. I am responsible for delivering a solution that encompasses the entire technical stack: UI (C#/WPF), SW (C++), FW (C/C++)In addition:- Due to the successful design, the vacuum system has become a point for testing and validation of new proprietary technologies of the company- I provide advice to other teams on SW design- I foster a positive and cooperative work atmosphere 🙂

I was part of a cross-cultural team that developed the software for a car cockpit prototype. My role involved designing and implementing geolocation algorithms and creating visual displays for navigation. The prototype was successfully showcased at CES2018.
