Areas of development responsibility include refrigeration system, DDC Controls, heat (IF, DF, Electric), ERV, and cabinetry.- Optimize evaporator and condenser coil designs to balance design factors such as physical constraints, air and refrigerant pressure drops, charge, cost and performance. Validate simulation assumptions and selections through equipment lab testing. - Lead team of 3 Design Engineers to develop equipment cabinetry and integrate components while promoting design for “manufacturability” and “serviceability”. Set short and long term team and individual goals.- Evaluate new and existing technologies through lab and field testing: microchannel coils, digital scroll compressors, XDX, and MSP technologies.- Perform airflow testing to establish “system effect” performance degradation, noise profile and to examine motor operation above and below nameplate RPM.- Devise unit sequence of operations to meet customer specific requirements while working with third party programmers during the implementation process. - Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable standards (UL1995, Z83.4).
