During my career, I worked in the research area of microbial comparative genomics, as well participated in teaching and supervising BSc and MSc students, as well as heading a scientific group.I got my PhD degree in the fall of 2009. My dissertation dealt with the reconstruction of regulatory interactions in Bacteria via comparative genomics analysis and during my PhD program, I reconstructed multiple regulons in various groups of Bacteria. In the spring of 2010, I joined as a Postdoctoral to Dr Andrei Osterman group (https://www.sbpdiscovery.org/our-scientists/andrei-osterman-phd) at Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute. During the time of my postdoctoral position, I have continued the reconstruction of regulons via comparative genomic techniques and have expanded my research area to related fields, such as the investigation of families of bacterial transcriptional regulators, reconstruction of regulatory networks for bacterial genomes, and genomic reconstruction of metabolism.After my contract with Dr Andrei Osterman's group was finished, I joined as an Associated Researcher to Molecular System Physiology group supervised by Prof Ines Thiele (https://www.thielelab.eu/), where I was an Associated Researcher. In this group, I developed my skills in comparative genomics, bioinformatics, and programming as well I continued to supervise and teach MSc students. Also, I got experience in co-supervision of a PhD student, assisting Prof Thiele as well as expanding my research area to metabolic modelling. Additionally, using the 5 years of the contract, I got two grants from the Luxembourg National Research Fund (https://www.fnr.lu/). The first grant was the individual postdoctoral one, whereas the second was the one for the young group leaders. Thus, I got experience in leading a scientific group that included one technician and three MSc students. In the year of 2019, part of Prof Thiele's group, including me, moved to the National University of Ireland, Galway, where I worked up to the end of the contract in January 2021.Owing to my undergraduate education in the Department of Biology at Moscow State University I got a strong background in biochemistry, microbiology and molecular and cellular biology. Being a PhD student, Postdoctoral, Research Associate, and Research Fellow, I continued to study novel bioinformatic techniques and improve my scientific, writing, programming, and communication skills.
