David has 25 years experience in venture capital and angel investing, as part of more than 40 years active in high-tech industries. He has experience in starting and growing businesses, raising financing and achieving successful M&As and IPOs.David is currently an active investor in Ottawa-area angel-backed companies. He also assists as a advisor to a variety of early-stage high-tech companies and venture capital firms. Previously, David was a Managing Director at Summerhill Venture Partners, a $175M venture capital fund investing in telecommunications and IT companies throughout North America. Summerhill was a spinout of BCE Capital, which was Bell Canada's venturing arm. While at Summerhill and BCE Capital, David invested in over 20 companies and was on the boards and was active with several successful startups in Canada and the U.S. Prior to entering the venture capital industry, David spent 14 years at Bell-Northern Research, the R&D arm of Nortel Networks.
