About Daniel Moran

I am a chemical engineer with 6 years of process and operations engineering experience in chemical plants, and 3 years of experience in a polymers laboratory. In my experience as a process engineer, I participated in the development of best production practices and managed small plant projects to optimize production time. I implemented the measurement of the Overall Equipment Efficiency in our plant and updated operating procedures based on detected improvement opportunities, in coordination with the technical advisor and operations personnel. I also analyzed non-conformities of products and unplanned events by conducting root cause investigations, and proposed action plans to avoid recurrence. I also coordinated Process Safety activities (PHA review and identification of IPLs) involving diverse disciplines. As a research assistant at UofA, my work was aimed to the use of cellulose nanocrystals as a potential reinforcement for diverse polymers, as well as the study of polymers and methods for flocculation and general treatment of oil sands tailings. As a Process safety engineer, I worked with units as a facilitator for risk assessments, assessment revalidations, process safety training, protection layers identification and validation, among other duties.

Listed skills include Autocad, Chemical Engineering, Microsoft Excel, Process Engineering, and 11 others.
