• Gathered and analyzed data from Hurricane Ida and Nicholas from the states of Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Some teams gathered data as the disaster happened in real-time since the data sources used did.
• Gathered power outage data from PowerOutage, Entergy, CenterPoint Energy, Kubra OutageMap, StormCenter Oncor, AEP Texas, and TNMP, and recorded them onto Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Contacted Entergy support by phone to get an answer concerning a detail within our gathered data that could not be found otherwise.
• Organized the Excel data in a way to make it easier to analyze and to make it compatible for the ArcMap software, which was used to create generated maps of the impacted regions.
• Created an Excel file containing the demographic information at a county level for the affected states that includes population, median income, percentage of race-ethnic groups.Telecommunication Outage Team
• Downloaded daily reports from Federal Communication Commission and recorded relevant information into Microsoft Excel, which was used for data analysis and in ArcMap visualization.
