Gathered and analyzed data from Hurricane Ida and Nicholas from the states of Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Some teams gathered data as the disaster happened in real-time since the data sources used did not archive historical data. Teams gathered data to help communities better prepare and respond to natural disasters.Power Outage Team• Gathered power outage data from PowerOutage, Entergy, CenterPoint Energy, Kubra OutageMap, StormCenter Oncor, AEP Texas, and TNMP, and recorded them onto Microsoft Word and Excel.• Contacted Entergy support by phone to get an answer concerning a detail within our gathered data that could not be found otherwise.• Organized the Excel data in a way to make it easier to analyze and to make it compatible for the ArcMap software, which was used to create generated maps of the impacted regions.• Created an Excel file containing the demographic information at a county level for the affected states that includes population, median income, percentage of race-ethnic groups.Telecommunication Outage Team• Downloaded daily reports from Federal Communication Commission and recorded relevant information into Microsoft Excel, which was used for data analysis and in ArcMap visualization.• Worked with teammate to manually extract data from graphs that were screenshotted daily from T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T websites. • Analyzed gathered data based on not just damage and recovery trends, but also considered the socioeconomic status of the affected areas.• Adjusted to the lack of direction from the team leader and ensured that substantial deliverables were presented during each weekly meeting with the mentor.

Studies show that 63 percent of direct labor time on mega-construction projects is wasted. Project was to determine how can constructors better optimize their workers' time in the field.• Collaborated with a team composed of civil, computer science, and architectural engineering disciplines to collaborate and present findings.• Provided weekly reports to mentors alongside my team.• Interviewed two industry professionals to ask for advice related to construction concerns, an action that impressed my mentors.• Concluded that improving communication and tracking between all parties involved would be the best way to reduce wasted time due to personal contribution.
