David Sweas is the CEO and Managing Director of the Dodson Group, a vertically-integrated precision manufacturer with diversified global end markets across a range of industries. The Group's 75 employees design and manufacture a range of Dodson-branded and third-party gears, billet components, and gearbox assemblies at three plants across Auckland, New Zealand, with sales outposts in the United States and United Kingdom. Dodson is the #1 global brand in the niche market of upgraded dual-clutch transmission components for high-horsepower and exotic vehicles, selling in over 40 countries across six continents. David has spent his career at the nexus of engineering, manufacturing, and finance. A specialist in operational turnarounds, scaling for growth, acquisitions, and sponsor-invested assets, David takes a hands-on approach both on the shop floor and in the boardroom.Previous to Dodson, David was the Managing Director of NZ Opportunity Partners, a venture that he founded in 2017 to identify and invest in a small-to-medium enterprise (SME) in New Zealand. Prior, David spent five years at J.P. Morgan in Chicago where he specialized in mergers and financings for global clients in the automotive original equipment and aftermarket sectors. He began his career as a mechanical engineer designing commercial vehicle electronics for Continental AG and construction machinery for Caterpillar Inc. He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Illinois and Master of Engineering Management and MBA degrees from Northwestern Kellogg.David is an avid marathoner, hiker and snowboarder. An American from Chicago's near south suburbs, David now lives in Auckland, New Zealand with his wife, Moira, and sons, David and Frank.
