I primarily deal with cloning, protein engineering and protein purification. I am responsible for multiple ongoing pharmaceutical research projects. I have experience in using bacterial, insect, mammalian cells to facilitate high-quality protein purification and QC of client targets. I am responsible for writing work proposals, SOWs, technical reports, SOPs and presenting data in meeting. I am the biochemistry lab manager, and I have trained new and existing coworkers on experimental methods and lab equipment.

I completed my PhD under Dr. De Luca's supervision. My research is in the area of plant biochemistry and biotechnology, and specifically studying alkaloid biosynthesis in Catharanthus roseus. Lead 55-minute yoga classes of various styles, including Hatha, Hatha Flow, Yogilates, and Yin. Run specialized classes for groups on campus, including for varsity athletes and fundraisers.

Instructor for a fourth-year Biotechnology course titled Topics in Plant and Microbial Biotechnology (BCHM/BTEC 4P08). The course is an introduction to current techniques in plant and microbial biotechnology, with a focus on their application in academia and industry to meet scientific and/or societal needs.Instructor for a third-year Biology course titled Plant Physiology: Metabolic and Biophysical Processes (BIOL 3P91). The course is an advanced exploration of plant anatomy and how biophysics controls uptake and transport of water and nutrients, photosynthesis and photorespiration, primary and secondary plant metabolism, and the biochemistry of plant defense and the rhizosphere.

I completed two undergraduate research projects under Dr. Rowland's supervision towards my honours degree in Biochemistry (awarded with distinction). My research objectives were to perform qualitative analysis of fatty acid methyl esters from genetically modified A. thaliana seeds by GC-MS. My research contributed to a larger project that characterized single hotdog-fold acyl-lipid thioesterases responsible for the biosynthesis of valuable medium-chain fatty acids.
