As a member of Global Solution Advisory Team (GSAT), I help to oversee, coordinate and execute multiple projects which one way or the other affect Downer’s JDEdwards instance which now has more than 3,000 active users across Australia. There are always multiple projects going on at the same time including roll-outs to new companies acquired by Downer, integrations with other systems and applications, enhancements to existing functionality. GSAT is to ensure that new requirements are clearly understood and carefully blended into existing JDE Global Solution to ensure that no existing functionality will be negatively affected by various new customisations we are doing to support new projectsCurrent projects I am involved in are integration with IBM Maximo system used by parts of Downer Rail division and implementation of new Lease Accounting functionality to support new AASB16 accounting standardPart of my time is also dedicated to providing support to JDE Support team which is now outsourced to TCS…

Business Support Functions team within Downer Global Solution Project is responsible for rolling out JDEdwards Global Solution across – AP, AR, GL, FA, PE, Procurement, Subcontract Management and RSS modules of JDE 9.1. Our main task is to analyse business requirements of various new Downer divisions being rolled into the global instance of JDE to ensure that their requirements are going to be met by the solution and if not then to consider customisations and enhancements to the current solution which will meet requirements of new divisions while keeping and enhancing experience of these divisions which are already live with JDE Global Solution system.The team has 7 team members - 4 Business Analysts and 3 Senior JDE Functional consultants. As a team lead I assigned tasks and actively coordinated and helped my team members while still being involved in writing functional specs around ongoing enhancements around Subcontractor Management custom solution which Downer developed within JDE. Significant part of my role is to help coordinate activities with other project teams to ensure that roll-out are delivered per agreed project planAs of August – 2017, Downer JDE Global Solution project has been through 10 Go-Lives and our JDE instance now has 1,900 active end-users… and we are still rolling the system out!

I started at Downer Group as a member of JDEdwards Global Solution project which aimed to implement global set of business processes and roll out single instance of JDE 9.1 across various Downer entities replacing multiple legacy systems. This project was one of the largest JDE implementations in Australia with project team reaching 70+ people.As a senior JDE functional analyst, I was primarily responsible for implementation of AP, AR, GL, FA, Procurement, Subcontract management and RSS modules of JDE system. I designed and wrote numerous functional specifications for enhancements and customisations which Downer decided to implement as the part of this project – specifically around Subcontract Management and Procurement modules. I also was involved into design and testing of several integrations with 3rd party systems like KOFAX, Blackline, Concur, PMS (Production Management System – Downer Mining).Important part of my role was coordination of various project tasks between various project teams like Business Analysts team, JDE development team, Testing team, Change Management team, Training team, Solution Architecture team to ensure project tasks are delivered on time

I managed JDE Support team which consists of 7 people. The team looked after highly customised JDE E1 8.12 installation with 1000+ custom objects and 450+ active users. The team also looked after Blackline application with about 90 users. JDE modules used - AR, AP, GL, FA, Procurement / RSS plus heaps of in/out integrations with other applications such as DTI, Cyber/Genesis, TM1, Blackline, Think, PayPal, TNS, Evergreen, Chargify, Infosys IMAP etc.Ongoing initiatives the team involved:- Concur implementation /JDE integration- JDE Upgrade proof of concept -> assessing possibility to move to 9.1 in Azure cloud

Activities included:- Integrity issues resolution; - Bugs debugging and communications with Oracle support centre; - Users training and support; - Business processes revision and system setup adjustments due to changing circumstances; - Preparation of functional specifications for new financial reports requested by users; - Modifications testing and communication with developers.Rollout implementation project for newly constructed Yazaki plant in Romania. Implemented - GL, AP and AR.
