Working with Professor Michael Silver, I gained a thorough knowledge of 3D printing, 3D modeling, and basic robotics. We worked on progressive development of an independent robotic system to be used on construction sites to transport and set bricks. Through continued design reconfiguration and experimentation, we explore the creation of a more efficient design, the means of construction, and the utilization of fabricated technology systems.

While conducting research on the same robotics systems with Professor Michael Silver, I also acted as a teaching assistant for a graduate-level applied technology studio class on the subject. I worked closely with students on the progressive design revisions to 3D printed robotic parts. A large part of my responsibilities included revision and reformatting of files to allow for 3D printing and CNC milling, as well as maintenance of these machines.

As the leading national center for research on inclusive design, the Center for Inclusive Design and Environmental Access is dedicated to making environments and products more usable, safer, and healthier in response to the needs of an increasingly diverse population.I was involved with projects such as the Innovative Solutions for Universal Design initiative (https://www.thisisud.com), which seeks to create a set of standards for builders and designers to adopt more universal elements in their projects. I have additionally worked on data synthesization for research projects, universal modifications for existing buildings, and the development of new, universally-designed home templates.

GRoW Buffalo is the name of the University at Buffalo collaborative U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon Team. The project is a federally sponsored competition to design a home that produces twice as much energy as it consumes. It is judged through ten criteria: Architecture, Market Appeal, Engineering, Communications, Affordability, Comfort Zone, Appliances, Home Life, Commuting, and Energy Balances.My job as Community Schools Coordinator fell into the Communications category. I worked with local schools at the high school and college levels to inform students about the project, encourage any interest that younger students may have in the fields that are involved, and help college students that may be interested in the possibility of becoming involved with the project.

Collaborated on the Plot the Lot Program, through which any person can record details of a vacant lot on his or her mobile device in order to collectively compile a comprehensive mapping of the city's vacant lots.
