A bizarre mix of scrappy, techy, and polished when necessary; biased for action and not afraid to take on complex challenges. Currently operating refitted U.S. Navy Minehunter SWATH vessels for oceanographic research work. In the past, I've developed big box retail centers, built and sold a facility management company, served as an owner's rep building high performance K-12 schools, led a remote facility management team covering hundreds of facilities across three continents, then rebuilt, infilled, and repositioned a land lease community. I am eternally drawn to the sea. My lifelong hero is my Great Uncle Kirk who was an adventurer. He leveraged his income from engineering and real estate to fuel his ocean exploration addiction. Among the first to SCUBA dive and not afraid to cast off to distant shores aboard his 45' ketch "Fortune Cookie".I grew up on the remote end of Catalina Island, and ultimately attended the U.S. Naval Academy where I spent most days offshore, learning ship handling and seamanship and racing sailboats with watery horizons top of mind. I swell with pride to be delving into this next chapter with Pricus Marine. We own two of very few SWATH vessels in the world: two of even fewer Jones Act compliant SWATHs. Their SWATH hull form is an enabling technology, offering inherent stability even with little or no way on...the ideal platform for oceanographic research...especially in the tumultuous seas that tend to harbor the ocean's most sought after mysteries. R/V Pricus and R/V Ocean Goat are currently being upfitted with enhanced survey capabilities including high speed hydraulic scientific winches, a broadened (2 or 3 tow) A-Frame, a POS MV Oceanmaster, and two hydrodynamically optimized side poles. They are the most optimized near shore survey platforms, offering blue ocean capability with small craft efficiency. Through all of this I hope to contribute to the betterment of our planet. Whether we facilitate the installation of renewable energy, document maritime archaeological resources, facilitate safe navigation, or enhance maritime security we have a lot to contribute."Pricus" – The immortal ocean goat. Part goat and part fish, Pricus is an embodiment of sure footedness for the high seas. As Ruler of Time, Pricus provides the most critical element for navigation and oceanographic survey…the ability to keep precise time. Since the dawn of time, seafarers have been gazing at the stars for direction and without fail, Pricus (as the constellation Capricorn) has guided their journey. Ocean goat - Go Navy!
