Lead design, manufacturing, testing, and launch of club’s first ever throttling liquid bipropellant rocket engine to 24000 feet

• Led a team of 10+ members to research, design, manufacture, test, and launch a 600 lbf N2O-ABS hybrid rocket engine to reach a target apogee of 10,000ft at the FAR-51025 Rocketry Competition• Drove development and in-house implementation of club’s first additively manufactured fuel grain, reducing costs by over 60% and eliminating team’s previous reliance on fuel grain outsourcing• Composed engine CAD assembly with Solidworks, using model to analyze expected loads with FEA and maintain margin of safety during mass optimization, backing with hand calculations and validating with successful static fire

• Utilized SolidWorks, Fusion 360, and MasterCam to produce 3D parametric solid models for various cockpit control panels and other aerospace machined parts for both military and commercial applications• Improved existing CMM programming in PC-DMIS, leading to a faster and more accurate quality inspection process that more strictly conformed to AS&D AS9100 requirements• Engaged in entire development of customized and 5-axis CNC machined avionics display components, from drafting engineering drawings to computer-aided design to CNC programming and machining

• Achieved Eagle Scout award by performing community service project on making a permanent and free educational introduction course on rockets and spacecraft for youth at local aviation museum• Led team of recruited volunteers, facilitating effective communication and teamwork through pandemic• Conducted multiple project design reviews from local to county governmental level• Served as a docent to guide visitors, explain exhibits, and teach educational classes
