Architecting Powell’s current Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Assist in redesigning Powell’s MES nesting process on the backend. Currently the nesting process runs on the client PC, which proofed to be very inefficient due to the fact that multiple PCs can access the same network share. We are in the process of redesigning the nest engine as a single server based service solution to handle all incoming nest processing and creation requests.Attended Autodesk Forge Accelerator program to acquire knowledge on Autodesk Forge API to implement some of its functionalities into Powell’s Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Solved some critical functionalities such as Inventor assembly referencing issues by applying Forge Accelerator knowledge that are essential to the rewrite of Powell’s MES.Developed a web application in Ext.JS for creating and editing Transmittal Change Orders, changing document state, workflows as well as publishing document transmittals to Oracle Agile PLM. Powell was relying on an outdated document transmittal workflow and was in need of a custom tailored application, which governs all aspects of its document workflows. The new application reduced a considerable amount of time for the engineer by centralizing all needed information in one place and providing the required functionalities to automate all tasks.

Developed Microstation plug-ins in C# to assist engineering team to interact with Promis.e interface to create new projects, panel layouts, schematics and insertion of electrical symbols. Powell was using a custom menu created by GE and relied on it due to the acquisition of a few GE products. GE’s menu was not a viable solution at some point in time and had to be replaced. The new implementation not only gave the engineer the basic functionalities, but also provided them with even more automated features to accelerate their engineering time and processes. Developed a wire harness ordering application to give Powell’s electrical designers the ability to auto generate wire harness drawings, place wire harness orders and automatically send the order to vendors. Designers were able to significantly reduce their time to assemble and package their orders.

Developed, maintained and supported applications for manufacturing and engineering systems using AutoCAD APIs and Microsoft Visual Studio. Powell was heavily dependent on generating CAD drawings for wire tags, however this process was a manual process and the creation of the tags was very slow and erroneous. In using AutoCAD’s API, I was able to automate this process with just a button click. This enhancement allowed engineers to shift their engineering time to higher priority tasks.Worked with GE engineering team to develop Rulestream solution for Medium Voltage Switchgear and Distribution Breaker project. After the transition I supported Powell engineering team to generate Models and BOMs base on job configuration and requirements as well as bug fixing the solution.Acquired Siemens PLM Rulestream and Promis.e knowledge to automate Powell’s business processes. Powell’s acquisition of GE’s Switchgear lead to my participation in the GE Medium Voltage Switchgear and Distribution Breaker Project at GE Iowa to transform and implement GE engineering processes into Powell’s engineering processes. As a result of this implementation and transition of knowledge, Powell engineering was able to design and support GE’s products within a very short amount of time.

- Provided systems administration support for Windows and Linux systems including server and windows workstation upgrades, backup and disaster recovery, user account setup and security administration.- Administered Oracle & Microsoft SQL Server 2000 databases.- Managed large groups of Windows based computer systems, patches, software distributions, and hardware and software inventory using Systems Management Server.- Created installation images of operating systems and complete computer configurations for deployment, including desktop settings and applications.
