A full-time permanent position as the Chief Technologist for the Division of Anatomic Pathology comprised of the Histology and Cytology sections. Responsible for the daily administration, organization, quality management, supervision and technical function of this Division of the Laboratory and participates with Clinical Director of Laboratories in the development of policies, procedures, plans and budgets. Participates in staff selection, placement, promotion, and performance management and staff development; responsible to ensure clear and accurate communications within the Division and with other Laboratory Divisions, hospital departments and medical staff as well as other feeder or referral hospital laboratories; member of the Continuous Quality Improvement Team for Provincial Laboratory Services.

Responsible for providing technical research support for two faculty pathologists in the department. Duties included laboratory procedures (histotechnology, bacteriology and parasitology related tasks), lab animal handling, wildlife handling (capturing and sampling wild birds for disease research, rehabilitation of sick/injured seals, responder to marine mammal strandings), necropsy techniques, humane euthanasia of wild animals as required, morphometric image analysis, statistical analysis, literature searches, and co-authoring scientific papers and poster presentations.
