Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the 3,300 membership based organisation, managing a team to address the needs of the membership and Professional Registration process for engineers wishing to achieve Engineering Council registered status.

Based within the contract management team of London Buses at Transport for London. Key areas of responsibility including preparation and verification of all documentation required for new contracts and mid-term contract variations, including authority to authorise contract variations up to the value of £25,000 per annum or up to £50,000 per annum for annual Contract Price Adjustments.I held personal responsibility for the first full audit of Route Risk Assessments for all contracted bus routes in London and creation and management of mileage grids for contracted bus routes. Issuing these to operators and completing mileage calculations to maintain contract records.

Based within the Public Transport management team at the Council’s main office in Bristol. Responsibility for the design, production & distribution of bus timetables, roadside displays, publicly leaflets through use of bespoke software or liaison with external suppliers. Communicating the impact of temporary road closures on bus operators and the public, managing publicity to keep customers informed and minimise disruption. Representing the Council at regional transport meetings and local bus service customer panels. Processing of bus service registration changes, keeping accurate records of these and using complex bespoke software to produce datasets required at local and regional level. Providing guidance to administrative & casual staff working on obligations for the Public Transport team.

Working as part of a team using a range of communication methods, to ensure that where possible customer enquiries are resolved at the first point of contact. Using Oracle based systems to accurately log, process and progress enquiries, adhering to agreed Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements. Utilising excellent customer service skills both on the telephone and in a written environment, working to challenging targets and maintaining a delivery focus.

Supporting the work of the People Development team though: working with internal and external stakeholders to conduct the evaluation of the Trust's Project Management & Heritage Skills Passport Programmes. Researching, collating and appraising learning & development options linked to leadership and talent development programmes. Data analysis on Staff and Visitor Experience surveys. Providing relevant assistance in relation to people & talent development projects as required.

Database management & manipulation, sorting post, typing highly confidential and sensitive correspondence, answering the telephone and dealing with queries, contacting both constituents and Government departments via a range of media – postal, telephone and email, assisting with constituency events and general office tasks such as filing, scanning & photocopying.

Assisting and answering questions from members of the public in a reassuring, unbiased, confident manner.
