-Worked as the Project Director for the Greater Birmingham Area Veterans Needs Assessment, conducting interviews and collecting data to provide a comprehensive view of the needs of military veterans in the Greater Birmingham area of Alabama. -Researched with scholars and teams to produce high quality, peer-reviewed publications.

-Worked with a bipartisan caucus of Representatives in Congress who have a direct military connection by strategizing policy efforts, navigating education and awareness for Congressional offices on issues related to the caucus mission, and connecting with stakeholders such as veteran and military support organizations, advocacy groups, and constituents.

- Provided medical services to active duty military, dependents, and beneficiaries as a respiratory therapist, nursing assistant, and general corpsman. - As a certified respiratory therapist, provided respiratory care for patients in an intensive care unit setting, on a cardiac ward, or on a medical or surgical ward. This includes managing ventilators, CPAP and BIPAP machines, nebulizing medications, providing inhaler treatments, and collaborating with medical staff to establish a treatment plan for the patient. - Provided outpatient care to patients in a pulmonary clinic setting (and previously in a pediatric pulmonary clinic setting), instructing patients in breathing tests to help medical staff determine clinical plans. - Offered education and instruction in medication technique and usage, encourages utilization of treatment plans established by the medical staff and helped patients obtain a thorough understanding of pulmonary disease processes and their prescribed medications. - As a military member, performed as a non-commissioned officer with leadership responsibilities and training.
