CIDI is an initiative of the Board of Regents University System of Georgia and is committed to removing barriers for individuals with disabilities by improving the human condition through technology in academic and workplace environments. CIDI has a trusted reputation for providing quality products and services at competitive prices. The center has become an essential resource for disability services offices by providing audio accommodations, accessible, post-secondary textbooks including e-texts and braille, assistive technology (AT) software, and an application to manage accommodation records. CIDI’s members consist of public and private colleges and universities, government organizations, non-profit entities, and corporations.I manage the Captioning and Described Media Services unit, consult with disability services in college and university settings, present best practices and research in higher education and disability, and design courses in digital accessibility for Georgia Tech students and professional education.

All Campuses

Led a multi-campus career, counseling and disability support unit that promotes the intellectual development and emotional well-being of students. Managed, mentored and hired professional, administrative and student staff with budget responsibilities including travel expenses, contract employees, and purchasing. Guided the Cartersville campus Student Services’ units, provided on-site leadership for the professional and student staff members. Educated the college faculty, staff, and students in various issues, particularly in disability awareness, diversity issues, mental health issues, accessibility initiatives, and the use of assistive technologies.  Planned, developed and implemented student success programs to achieve goals that were established annually to support the college’s institutional initiatives.  Member of the Georgia Highlands College administrative team, participated in strategic and campus master planning, and assumed various roles of leadership.
