CurrentAs a Critical Care Specialist, I was responsible for delivering high-quality care to critically ill patients, ensuring the smooth operation of the department, and participating in research, teaching, and leadership activities.Key Responsibilities:1. Clinical Duties:- Provide expert critical care as per the Rota, managing patients effectively in the Critical Care Unit.- Maintain specialist registration with GMC and uphold professional competencies.- Involve patients in their care decisions and respect their perspectives.2. Research, Teaching & Training:- Collaborate with academic and clinical colleagues to enhance research initiatives.- Deliver high-quality teaching to medical undergraduates and other healthcare professionals.- Mentor junior staff and contribute to the accreditation of training posts.3. Medical Staff Management:- Ensure compliance with working hours regulations for junior doctors.- Manage leave and ensure adequate clinical cover, including on-call commitments.4. Governance:- Participate in clinical audits, incident reporting, and adherence to guidelines.- Promote best practices in the specialty and ensure infection control standards.5. Leadership & Teamwork:- Demonstrate strong leadership in clinical teams and contribute to national and local initiatives.- Resolve conflicts effectively through negotiation and collaboration.- Adhere to departmental guidelines on leave and absence reporting.6. Management Responsibilities:- As the Pediatric ICU Lead, manage Level 3 beds, providing intensive care for children, including those with complex needs. Update and develop care standards for critically ill children and young people.-As a Rota manager, I am responsible for rota preparation for Consultant tier doctors.
