I have found a new, challenging, way to extend the benefits of my 60+ year teaching practice. I aim to reach a wide audience of people keeping themselves going, even growing, despite daily barrages of unexpected changes. My late friend, mentor, and co-author Peter B. Vaill rekindled my own way of going on when he invited me to collaborate on what became, to his death, his last book. On Practice as a Way of Being (https://www.mylibrary.world/practice). Working remotely, we also originated The Practice? Podcast (https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/dsfearonsr58172), inviting listeners to eavesdrop on our conversations probing the nature of Practice. Choosing this digitalized way to reach fellow learners means retiring as a Central Connecticut State University Professor of Management and Organizational Behavior was a benchmark not a ‘benching’. Now, everywhere I look, I see practices at work daily making their practitioners quite wonderful. Now they are my teachers and sources of my constant learning.
